What is the best approach?
Several different ideas have been tried out over the last 50 years to manage the vegetation on the island for the benefit of birds, habitats, and visitors.
Many of these methods were counter-productive. However, one period, from 1997 to 2015, saw the extent and condition of valuable habitats improve.
